Little Zippy Wristlet in Gold Flowers
I was inspired for this pattern by Moroccan tiles. I foiled the leather by hand, and because this leather has a strong grain, ended up with this cool distressed effect.
Foiling by hand requires using a very very hot, pen-shaped tool. You lay a sheet of foil over the leather, then press down on it with the tool to adhere it. You can't really see what you've done until you pull the foil sheet back up. So, to get this pattern I created a stencil for a guide. But foil's very slippery to work with, so I had to hold the stencil down tightly with my left hand while I pressed down with the hot tool in my right hand. Unfortunately, I got a few burns in the process. So, while I love the end result, I probably won't do a lot of this type of work.
